Fall Leaves/Fall Colors

I wanted to give Darlene @ LIVE LAUGH CARDS a shout out for inspiring me to create this card.  She had created a beautiful butterfly with a background die cut within the die cut and I thought that was a brilliant idea.  So I wanted to try it with fall leaves and was intrigued with placing a tree die behind it (which mimicked the leaves' veins).  I was so happy with the way it turned out.

So I decided to submit it to Paper Players challenge PP269 for a Fall Thank You card
http://thepaperplayers.blogspot.com/

Hope you like my card.

Japanese Girl

I recently received a stamp set that was just beautiful from a friend (Christine in England) which was absolutely beautiful.  So when I saw the challenge on LIVE LOVE CARDS for a WHITE SPACE card, I thought of this stamp set with the beautiful corner piece.  This is my first time using markers, so please go easy on me - I will improve with time I suspect!  LOL

Hope you like it anyway.

Halloween Haunted House

Since it is almost Halloween, it seemed fitting to display the Halloween card that I recently made.  The haunted house and fence are cut from the CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge.  The tree is from Impression Obsession (I believe) and the moon part with the bats is also cut fromt he CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge.  I backed the moon and the windows with yellow paper and colored the bats black.

Any comments would be SO appreciated.  I'm especially proud of the way this one came out.

Artfully Sent cards from Cricut

My dear friend Arlene wanted me to make a card for her son who loves cars.  So this is the card that I made that I wanted to share with you.  It's made from the Cricut using the Artfully Sent cartridge.

I also was playing around with a Paris card for my pen friend in France - thought she would get a kick out of it.  Here is how it turned out.  I hope she likes it.  Of course I had to give the French poodle a jeweled collar!  LOL

I appreciate and read all of your comments so please don't hesitate to tell me what you think.

Field Flowers card - SU

I recently bought the stamp set called Field Flowers by Stampin Up and I wanted to try different color combinations and also frames cut from my Cricut.  I love the stamp set because the stem is separate from the flower making it easy to stamp it in another color.
So here are a few that I made:

I have also been trying to make more of an effort with the inside of my cards.  So here are a few from this batch:

Christmas Window

The other day I was playing around with some shapes from my Cricut cartridges to see if I could make a window because I wanted to use my stamp set from Stampin Up called Welcome Christmas.

I also wanted to do one in more pastel colors and not the traditional Christmas green and red.  This is my first try.  I still need to make some revisions but I think it came out okay.

Christmas card - Kids Sledding

Hope you like my new creations - I CASEd the card from one on Pinterest but changed the shape of the card and some other details of course to make it my own.  But the basic concept is the same.  I used some mica powder for the snow and melted it so it wouldn't make a mess in the envelope.

The stamp is from Stampin Up and it is from the WELCOME CHRISTMAS stamp set.  The sentiment at the bottom is from Close to My Heart.  I liked changing the colors to see what works the best - still not sure about that so please give me your comments to let me know which patterned paper and the colors you like the most.

Bird cards with Stamp-A-Mania sparkly embossing powder

Just wanted to share some cards that I made with the Stamp-A-Mania extra sparkly embossing powder that I just love, love, love.  The stamp is from Inkadinkado but I replaced the flower with another flower from another set.

Christmas card made with nontraditional colors

So Stamp Nation had another challenge for a Christmas card using nontraditional colors.  And here is what I came up with.  Hope you like it!  I like the cheerful colors so much that I may make more to send out to friends for the holidays!

Stamp Nation Challenge

I recently participated in a Stamp Nation challenge which included a picture for inspiration.  Here is the picture:

And here is my interpretation of it:

I turned the pom-pom line into a wire with birds on it.  And the aqua and orange pillows became houses.

I hope you like my card.  It was fun to make.

Stamp A Mania Sparkly Embossing Powder

I had purchased some Stamp A Mania sparkly embossing powder a while ago and wanted to try it out.  So here are a couple cards that I created with it.  I just love the way the embossing powder sparkles - don't you!  I cut the scalloped design from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.

The feather stamps are also from Stamp A Mania.com

Sunny Days card

I love this stamp by Inkadinkado - it's just so cheerful!  I stamped it and then colored in some parts with sparkly pens.  The background was cut with the Artfully Sent CTMH cartridge - which I love because it has SO many backgrounds and shapes you can cut.  I was telling my one friend that I think it's a lot less expensive to buy the cartridges with 700 images for $99 then to buy each die for $20.  And you get the added benefit of getting to cut them at ANY size you want too.

Classic car card for 100 year old man!

I saw on Facebook that a man is turning 100 years old and his friend was looking for people to send him handmade cards.  So I thought I would participate.

So this is the card that I came up with.  Hope he likes it.  I've done one of these in the past but I changed this up a bit and did the tires a bit better this time.

I cut this from Artfully Sent CTMH Cartridge.  It's layered on bronze glitter paper.  Hope this card makes him feel special.

I'm also participating in the Papers Player blog challenge #248.   This is my first challenge that I'm participating in.  Here is the link to the challenge.

Cardinal Cards

This blog was inspired by Nancy Keller's tutorial on Scrap Happens where she teaches how to make these bird cards from the Art Philosophy cricut Cartridge through Close to My Heart.  So I wanted to give Nancy a shout out and say THANK YOU.  If you want to check out her bird cards, you can click on the link below:

Scrap Happens blog

I had so much making these cards and experimenting a bit.  And here is what I came up with....

I made this one first and added the different shade into the wing and kept the saying in RED

Then I made this and cut the white paper a bit more fancy, kept the wing the same color but popped it out some and changed the saying to GREEN.

.
Let me know which one you like the most and if you have any other ideas to make it better - please share those as well.  I'm always open to other ideas as you know.

Artfully Sent Flower Cards

I found this pretty template on the Artfully Sent CTMH Cricut cartridge and thought I would experiment with a few cards.

The stamped saying is from Stamp A Mania.

The first one I did not add any Stickles too and I put it on a red glitter card.

The next one I inserted some red Stickles onto the flower cut outs to give it a bit of sparkle and placed it on a white card base.

The next one I inserted silver Stickles onto the flower cut outs.

Embossed Tree cards

Today I wanted to share with you some cards that I made with my Darice embossing tree folder.  I have cut out the deer and rabbit with the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge and the coordinating "thank you" banner from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I used my newly purchased bristle brushes to ink the trees in the same green as the backing paper and background of the banner.  I like the brushes better than the sponge daubers for projects like this.

I experimented with different paper to cut the deer and rabbits out - first trying plain paper ....

Then trying to patterned paper.....  I think I like the patterned paper the best.  What do you think?  I wish I had a Happy Autumn stamp but don't.  So for the inside - I think I will write "You are DEER to me!".

Wasn't sure about the position of the banner either - so I tried different positions. Let me know which position you like best if you could.  I think I like the first card's position of the banner the best.

I'm also working on another card - it's not complete yet as I didn't make the branches long enough but wanted to show you the progress before it is completed just for fun.  I like the way it's coming together - what do you think?  Everything was cut from the Cricut machine.  And I stamped the background with leaves and different colors to give it that Autumn look.  Still experimenting with it though.

Please leave me comments as to suggestions and what you like - I love reading your comments and they make my day bright and sunny!  Again, thanks for visiting and have a great day.

Thinking of You cards

Today I wanted to share with you some Thinking of You cards that I made with the Cricut and CTMH Horray Bouquet stamping set.

The background with the "Thinking of You" and butterfly was cut from the CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge.  I cut multiple size butterflies to give it some pizzazz!

Hope you like them - they were fun to make and I'm thinking there are so many more possibilities out there for this template.

I wanted to try the background in a color so here is what I came up with:

This last one I created with some fancy paper and cut some extra butterflies in different sizes.  I think I like this one the best.  Which card do you like the most?

Paisley - Just Because

I recently made this type of card for a card swap.  I wanted to use my Paisley embossing folder from Darice and also a paper punch (Martha Stewart).  I had originally thought to make them Easter cards which is why I used these colors but then ran out of time.  I cut the sentiment and the backing with the Cricut.  The stamp - I'm not sure but here is the complete set - it's so cute:

House Mouse Cards

I recently went to a stamping event and saw a HOUSE MOUSE stamp that I just fell in love with.
So I had to try my hand at a couple of cards.  Here are the results.

My friend Eunice recently allowed me to stamp off a bunch of different HOUSE MOUSE images so I will be adding more in the near future.  Aren't they just adorable!
