January Post

Since January usually means cold weather in most places (happily not here in Arizona!) I thought I would do a spring like card to cheer the spirits.  On Live Love Cards the January challenge had us thinking about using the same stamp as a background and then popping one off the page as an accent. I heat embossed the flower in black and then aqua painted it with my Stamp Up ink on water color paper.  This is my first water color attempt with an aqua painter and Stampin Up inks.  I'm happy with the way this turned out and the way the black sentiment pops off the card too.  Hope you like it.

  1. Well Charlene, first let me tell you that this card is beautiful, you did an amazing job with your water coloring, love the way you created that background and then highlighted one of the flowers.
I'm so glad you are participating in challenges, I'm telling you, it's loads of fun.
Now, I'm taking this chance to tell you that I was elected to be part of a Designer Team over at the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog, my first post as a member of this team will be on February 2nd. so I hope you stop by and give the challenge a try.
I'm going to make a list for you with all the challenges I participate in, so you can go check them out and play along. I particularly love the Christmas challenges because, by the time the Holidays roll by, I have a good stash of Christmas cards ready to go.
I hope you've been getting my blog posts, please stop by soon, ok?
    Hugs,
    Maria.

    1. Maria - I have been leaving comments on your blog - have you seen any of them? I love your cards and they always inspire me so much. Congrats on becoming a design - very well deserved - your work is AMAZING! I think you already sent me a list - it's just finding the time to make the cards. I will start slowly this year but I will try to get involved more with the challenges. Thanks for recommending Live Love Cards - I really love it there and have learned a lot. Darlene is just fantastic and makes it look so easy.

  2. Charlene, I like this card! You are inspiring me to get it together and create a card to fit the challenge on Live Love Cards. I like how you popped that one flower up and used the same flower for the background. Very inspiring.

    1. Thanks Lisa - I'm behind on my swap cards - this is the first card I've made since Christmas. Guess I needed a bit of a break. Can't wait to see what you come up with for the January challenge on Live Love Cards. Craft on my friend!
