I made this card for SCS challenge for an Alpha card beginning with N and had nature and another word which I chose as NEST.
I started out with stamping Altenew's Vine Stamp set on a white rectangle which I die cut ahead of time.
I colored the flowers yellow and the leaves green where I knew the nest would not cover.
I then placed the nest that I had made ahead of time from Honey Bee's Lovely Layers Nest in the corner to see how it would fit.
The next step was to apply distress ink with a sponge to the background with Mermaid Lagoon. I tap the ink on a white strip of paper so that it does not leave blotches and blends better.
Then I placed the bird die cut from Honey Bee's "Spring Birds" on top to estimate where to place the sentiment.
Unfortunately, the sentiment fell of the stamping positioner and fell crocked on top of what I had just created!! OOPS!! LOL Plan B is to make a label and ink it with the same background to cover that. Mistakes sometimes happen and I didn't feel like starting all over! So onward we progressed! LOL
I tried different colored labels but in the end I liked the distressed blue one.
I then glued this down on a SU YO YO Yellow cardstock but I still was not happy with it.
I realized it was just too much blue in the nest so I die cut the eggs and made them yellow instead and also went back and with a paper underneath added more ink toe the bird's feathers. And I also changed the location of the feathers and added one.
I also added Garnet Stickles to the inside of the flowers (smeared one too! Must not be a good crafting day for me!!)
Finally, the finished product!
