Since it is almost Halloween, it seemed fitting to display the Halloween card that I recently made. The haunted house and fence are cut from the CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge. The tree is from Impression Obsession (I believe) and the moon part with the bats is also cut fromt he CTMH Artfully Sent cartridge. I backed the moon and the windows with yellow paper and colored the bats black.
Any comments would be SO appreciated. I'm especially proud of the way this one came out.
Welcome to my cardmaking blog. I love to make cards with clear stamps and digital stamps, colored pencils (Gamsol for blending), various border, frame and shape dies and patterned paper. I hope you enjoy my cards and I would love to hear what you think.

Field Flowers card - SU
I recently bought the stamp set called Field Flowers by Stampin Up and I wanted to try different color combinations and also frames cut from my Cricut. I love the stamp set because the stem is separate from the flower making it easy to stamp it in another color.
So here are a few that I made:
I have also been trying to make more of an effort with the inside of my cards. So here are a few from this batch:

Christmas Window
The other day I was playing around with some shapes from my Cricut cartridges to see if I could make a window because I wanted to use my stamp set from Stampin Up called Welcome Christmas.
I also wanted to do one in more pastel colors and not the traditional Christmas green and red. This is my first try. I still need to make some revisions but I think it came out okay.

Christmas card - Kids Sledding
Hope you like my new creations - I CASEd the card from one on Pinterest but changed the shape of the card and some other details of course to make it my own. But the basic concept is the same. I used some mica powder for the snow and melted it so it wouldn't make a mess in the envelope.
The stamp is from Stampin Up and it is from the WELCOME CHRISTMAS stamp set. The sentiment at the bottom is from Close to My Heart. I liked changing the colors to see what works the best - still not sure about that so please give me your comments to let me know which patterned paper and the colors you like the most.

Stamp A Mania Sparkly Embossing Powder
I had purchased some Stamp A Mania sparkly embossing powder a while ago and wanted to try it out. So here are a couple cards that I created with it. I just love the way the embossing powder sparkles - don't you! I cut the scalloped design from the Artfully Sent Cricut cartridge.
The feather stamps are also from Stamp A Mania.com

Sunny Days card
I love this stamp by Inkadinkado - it's just so cheerful! I stamped it and then colored in some parts with sparkly pens. The background was cut with the Artfully Sent CTMH cartridge - which I love because it has SO many backgrounds and shapes you can cut. I was telling my one friend that I think it's a lot less expensive to buy the cartridges with 700 images for $99 then to buy each die for $20. And you get the added benefit of getting to cut them at ANY size you want too.

Cardinal Cards
This blog was inspired by Nancy Keller's tutorial on Scrap Happens where she teaches how to make these bird cards from the Art Philosophy cricut Cartridge through Close to My Heart. So I wanted to give Nancy a shout out and say THANK YOU. If you want to check out her bird cards, you can click on the link below:

I had so much making these cards and experimenting a bit. And here is what I came up with....
I made this one first and added the different shade into the wing and kept the saying in RED
Then I made this and cut the white paper a bit more fancy, kept the wing the same color but popped it out some and changed the saying to GREEN.
.
Let me know which one you like the most and if you have any other ideas to make it better - please share those as well. I'm always open to other ideas as you know.

Paisley - Just Because
I recently made this type of card for a card swap. I wanted to use my Paisley embossing folder from Darice and also a paper punch (Martha Stewart). I had originally thought to make them Easter cards which is why I used these colors but then ran out of time. I cut the sentiment and the backing with the Cricut. The stamp - I'm not sure but here is the complete set - it's so cute:

Tags, Tags and More Tags
My friend Joyce sent me this lovely card with a banner and a butterfly. Here is a picture of HER card.
It inspired me to make some cards with tags instead and she was so very nice to include some butterflies with her card. So here are my creations inspired by Joyce.
I ran out of her butterflies so I had to print out another one from the Cricut and emboss it!
Then I cut this cute inside from the Cricut. Yes, of course it had to have a butterfly! That's the theme after all. LOL
Now I just have to figure out a saying to stamp inside....
Oh the possibilities! LOL
Hope you liked my cards...

Blossom Card Kit from CTMH
When I ordered my card making kit from Close to My Heart - they sent me the Blossom card kit to make. So here are the cards that I made with it - still need to do a few more. I was pleased with the way they came out for the most part. Of course I had to put my own spin on them - it's too boring to make them all the same.
My friend Joyce game me the paper for the background of this card - I inked it and I love the way the leaves show up. I have such nice friends really. Crafters love to share! LOL

I'm in a SPRING mood
The weather has been so beautiful here lately and we went away this past weekend and sat by a lake - which did my soul a lot of good. So I thought I'd work on some flower cards this week.
I used two flower stamp sets by CTMH: Pretty Petals and Hooray Bouquet and they coordinate well together.
The cute flower border down the side of the cards is from Fiskars "Border-A-Plenty" stamp set. I'm trying to use more borders lately.
After looking at the first set - I decided that I wanted to add more color and also emboss the paper (with three different folders) underneath the flower. A girl has to try different things after all! LOL I like the way these came out even better.

I've been using my new MISTI tool to stamp the border and was SO pleased with the results.
