Same Image four Ways

Birthday Card Four Different Ways

Today's image is by Stamping Bella called:

"You Are So Sweet"

I have four birthdays coming up and so I stamped it and colored it with the same three colors - yellow, pink and aqua and then decided to come up with four different card layouts.

When trying to come  up with ideas, I keep in mind four basic ways to design cards:

  1. With a background paper
  2. With a frame
  3. With a border
  4. With die cut shapes

Here is the image that I colored, some slightly different ways with the same three colors:

And here are the four cards completed.

And now here are the separate cards so you can see them closer up and in more detail:

This first one I combined an oval die shape with patterned paper (bottom of card) and a border that matched the paper.
I matched the paper to the colors in the image.  Usually I color the images after I find the paper that I like (much easier).  So this card has the background paper and a die shape and a border.

The Second one I used patterned paper and die cut a larger frame in the middle of it and then used a smaller square in blue and cut out a slightly smaller frame  out.  I then lined them up and glued it all together. So this one has the background patterned paper and a die cut frame from a fancy shape.

The third card, I die cut out a fancy frame in white. And because I didn't think of stamping it directly on the frame at the time, I cut out a slightly smaller rectangle and glued it inside the frame.  So this one has a frame and a simple rectangle shape.

The last one I cut the image with a simple rectangle shape and placed on top of paper that coordinated with the color I used int he dress and lollipop and then placed tiny triangles that matched the other color in the dress at the corner.
This one has the rectangle shape and background patterned paper and then triangle borders at corners.

I hope this gives you ideas on how to use the same image in different ways.

Garden Friends

Today's creation is from a Hello Bluebird stamp set called "Garden Friends".  I just love the sweet birds in this stamp set.

The background was inked with Salty Ocean distress ink.  I also added some flowers and leaves from the HB Banner Buddies and the garden sign and more flowers are from the Bloom and Grow set.

I love the way you can mix and match from different HB sets and they all go together so well.

Hello Bluebird - Pig Out - Happy Birthday card

Today's card is another stamp set from Hello Bluebird called Pig Out.  I inked the background with I believe Worn Lipstick distress ink and colored the images with Spectrum Noir markers.  This was a fast easy card to make.

Hello Bluebird - Rainy Day

Back to blogging again!  It's been a while since I have been feeling creative, but something changed in my life - I accepted Jesus into my life and I have felt the burden of worry lifted off of my shoulders.  So I find myself creating cards most every day now. And I want to share my creations in the hope that it might inspire another crafter or just brighten their day some small way.

This stamp set is from Hello Bluebird called "Rainy Day".    I was inspired by Gemma Campbell an artist that is on the Hello Bluebird blog.  Her cards are just beautiful!
I used distress ink for the background and spritzed it with water and dried with a paper towel.  I used my Spectrum Noir markers to color in the rest,

You Are My Sunshine!

This is my first slim line card and it was a lot of fun to create.  I made it for my friend in Germany for her birthday.  The digital image is from Sassy Cheryl called You Are My Sunshine.  I made the sun, part of her skirt and her shoes 3D which is hard to show here.  And then I added some flowers also.  The sentiment comes with the digital image.  I also added some liquid pearls to her shirt.
